I’m Rose O'Donovan, a Chartered Psychologist, accredited Executive Coach and HSP based in Ealing.
I spent 30 years in coaching and development roles, initially with financial services before moving to Higher Education and latterly the Cabinet Office within Central Government. I left education early but working in development gave me an appetite to continue my learning journey and I achieved my CIPD qualification followed by a degree and masters' as a mature student, qualifying as a Work Psychologist and Executive Coach.
One of the biggest challenges has been overcoming a dislike of public speaking which was tricky when much of my early work was training delivery! Luckily, I had a mentor who helped develop my confidence and later, I accessed professional support which gave me a methodology and structure to present effectively in a range of situations. Supporting others in this area has been one of the most rewarding elements of my career.
Working in teams, I was naturally intuitive and sensitive with my colleagues – however, in noisy environments with competing tasks, I became easily overwhelmed. Fortunately, I discovered the research by Elaine Aron: The Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) and suddenly understood why! In psychology, being sensitive means you process your experiences and environment very deeply. Having an insight to my trait has been life changing.
Alongside my coaching work, I volunteer with the NHS, University of East London and Smart Works and enjoy walking and the arts. I am still learning but nowadays it is bite-size and thankfully, there are no exams!
I offer a calm and encouraging space to develop self-awareness, personal impact and clarity - enabling you to shape fresh perspectives, experiment with new skills and operate with confidence and ease. My aim is to help you flourish.
I support working professionals and those returning from a break with career planning, transitions and presentation training. I also help fellow HSPs to thrive in their roles.
